Man, reviewing this movie is tough, so tough that I had to pick up a few history books! It's pretty much impossible to talk about it without putting it into context. I need to make a few points about Reaganomics and the rise of individualism and consumerism in the 1980s. Basically, that's what the movie predicted a few years in advance, and that's what makes it so creepy. I'll probably upload the review this weekend. It's more like a rambling than a review actually, it's my interpretation of the movie. I won't say anything about the plot, I'll avoid every kind of spoiler. It will be like a "guide". Okay...maybe not a guide, it's not like you need a manual to watch a movie, but it's a sort of "deep dive". You should be able to read it even though you haven't watched it, maybe it will make you want to! Who knows!

I made my button! This time, I didn't have to experiment, but I already knew what I wanted to create (pretty much at least). It's coherent with the website's style, and it's so cute!

I've added some new pics to the gallery! I am having lots of fun shooting photos of this radio tower in my hometown. It's so cool, I really don't know why I like it so much, it's just a radio mast! As I wrote in the gallery, it gives off so many 1980s/retro-futuristic vibes, I love that aesthetic! It reminds me of movies like 'John Carpenter's The Fog', or videogames like 'Pacific Drive' (which I've been playing quite a lot recently, and I'm probably going to talk about it) and 'Killer Frequency'. I'm also fascinated by the works of Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, and I've probably been inspired by them for this experiment. It's also a pretty good way to learn a few things about Photoshop, like patterns, halftones and filters.

I finally made it, I'm so happy! Welcome to the new website! I know, I know, it's a bit different than the previous version...but I'm afraid I went overboard with the original style. I like this new version though! These are all my favorite colors! Violet, pink and blue! It took me a while (almost three months), but I finally feel this is the cornerstone of the project. This is the foundation. From now on, I won't bulldoze anything. All I have to do is build! I'm already working on something, and it has to do with the last 'Flick of the Week', which is one of my favorite movies! Also, go check out my photos, I have already uploaded lots of them!

Kzzt...testing, testing...do you receive me? Whoa, there we go! I've been feeling quite motivated this last few days and, as I wrote yesterday, I've added many things to the new website. First of all, I feel like the new website finally has a goal and an overall meaning. It just feels more organic, you know? I've written a "manifesto" or something like that. The blog will finally have a dedicated page, and it won't just be a text box on the home page. Of course, the 'Flick of the Week' will remain, but I'll also write about my favorite movies, my thoughts about them, retrospectives, curiosities, also first impression after going to the cinema and so on... Also, since the name of this website is 'My Own Private Cinema' and not 'Cinema', I'll rant about my other hobbies, photography in the first place. I've already created a photogallery where I display my favorite shots and show you my current projects. I'm really happy about it. Feels like my own space. See you soon!
